The Teaguy is a boutique tea blender that aims to supply the growing demand for premium tea in the foodservice industry. They offer a range of microbatch blends in both loose and bagged form for purchase by cafes, restaurants, coffee roasters and caterers.
The Teaguy promises that their tea will impress. With their products sold all across Canada, The Teaguy promotes quality, flexibility and creativity within the world of tea from coast to coast. Their passion for tea knows no limits as they are here to bring you the most masterfully crafted tea you have ever tasted.

Concept
The look and feel of a website can attract or detract customers almost instantly. With an outdated site, The Teaguy approached SplitMango in August of 2014 looking for a redesign and upgrade. We happily designed for an updated, modern feel with parallax feature. Integrating full-width photo sliders with beautiful imagery to create an eye catching experience for anyone visiting The Teaguy online.
Design
The Teaguy was looking for an easy way to monitor and sell their products online. We saw Shopify as a fantastic option for them. Shopify is a complete ecommerce solution that allows users to sell products online with ease. One of the more challenging tasks we faced was creating unique page layouts using Shopify. To accomplish the design and look we were going for we needed to, and successfully did, extend the features of Shopify with our own custom code.
Development & Creation
Developing for a responsive and future-friendly web environment is extremely important and we make sure that our websites function properly no matter what device a user is on. Building a responsive Shopify theme was essential.
We love the features created for The Teaguy website. Wanting to accentuate the beautiful tea imagery we custom made a home page banner. Another great feature we incorporated is “Search Tea by Ingredient’ which allows site visitors to find teas by clicking on the ingredient they are most interested in. Each tea is filtered by the list of tags describing them.
With tea as a staple in the SplitMango office it was a pleasure working on such a great site. Our own office favourites include Organic Lavender Earl Grey, Organic Red Rooibos and Organic Midnight Jasmine.
