It’s Friday, so let’s have a little chit chat with one of our designers at SplitMango.
SplitMango: Hi Willie, I want to ease our audience into this conversation with an simple question. What’s your name?
Willie: William. I prefer Willie though that’s what my friends and colleagues call me.
SplitMango: What drew you to design?
Willie: Since I was a little kid, I have always been fascinated by how line and shape can be used the communicate messages. It became a hobby for me and most of my design knowledge was self-taught. This interest has driven me to a career path in this industry. Over the years of learning and work, I have developed a good understanding of typography, colour, visual hierarchy and user experience design principles and disciplines.
SplitMango: So how long have you been working at SplitMango?
Willie: Four years.
SplitMango: What’s your favourite thing to do when you’re not designing?
Willie: If the weather is nice, like the summer weather in Vancouver, I’d like to just sit on the beach and enjoy the sunshine… taking in the beautiful ocean view.
SplitMango: A beautiful view indeed. If there was one thing you could change about the Internet what would it be?
Willie: I think it’d be great if the Internet could be accessible to every person in the world.
SplitMango: I definitely agree. Willie, it’s been a pleasure talking!
Willie: The pleasure is mine.
