This week’s chat with the Mangos stars none other than one of our programmers, Ken Adachi.
SplitMango: Hi Ken! Could you please state your name for the record?
Ken: Sure thing. My Japanese name is Kensuke, but most of my friends call me Ken.
SplitMango: What’s your background in development?
Ken: I went to school and graduated with a degree in computer science, but I’d have to say that most of what I know just came from trying out new things on my home computer.
SplitMango: What drew you to development?
Ken: In high school I took a computer course that introduced me to Flash. Not as widely used anymore, but that summer I spent a lot of time developing games in ActionScript. Later I became interested in other programming languages which eventually led me to web development.
SplitMango: That Flash will get you everytime. So how long have you been working at SplitMango?
Ken: I’m on my fifth year at SplitMango now.
SplitMango: What’s your favourite thing to do when you’re not developing?
Ken: I enjoy playing hockey so if I’m not at the office you might find me on the ice.
SplitMango: Very cool, literally. Sorry. Moving along, if there was one thing you could change about the Internet what would it be?
Ken: The Internet is changing so fast, I just wish that I could keep up with it.
SplitMango: Haha, totally! Thanks so much for chatting with us Ken.
Ken: You’re welcome.
